Anagrams
Ever seen the Internet Anagram Server (I, Rearrangement Servant)?
Anagram: “A word or phrase formed by rearranging the letters of another word or phrase.”
The IAS has a search engine for anagrams. Try the advanced search options and exclude/require words to hone down results. Fun stuff!
New York Times = Monkeys Write
Television Programming = Permeating Living Rooms
Open Source Software = Cooperates New For Us
Statue of Liberty = Built to Stay Free
Ronald Earnest Paul = A Pleasant Old Rerun
- From Shakespeare’s Hamlet:
‘To be or not to be: that is the question, whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.’ = In one of the Bard’s best-thought-of tragedies, our insistent hero, Hamlet, queries on two fronts about how life turns rotten.
